Responsibilities:
- Leading the overall club administration and aligning the committee’s goals with member views.
- Developing and implementing a comprehensive social media strategy to enhance club visibility and engagement.
Key Achievements:
- Follower Growth: Elevated the club’s social media following from zero to 1,738 over three years through consistent weekly posts, totalling 521 by June 2022. This sustained posting strategy significantly contributed to steady increases in follower engagement and community growth, reflecting a direct correlation between active content delivery and the expansion of our audience base.
- Content Creation: Crafted over 1,000 unique graphics and designs using Canva for posts, stories, and reels, continuously refreshing designs, colours, and styles for various campaigns, tournaments, and events. This approach adhered to the brand guidelines I established, enhancing the profile’s visual appeal and aiding in brand recognition and community engagement.
- Event Coverage: Enhanced the visibility of club operations and management strategies by documenting every event and training session.
- Website Development: Launched a dedicated club website serving as a central hub for information, integrating event links, and social media handles, which significantly improved communication and resource accessibility.
- Innovative Engagement: Initiated the use of Reels, which dramatically increased impressions and helped gain recognition from established global handball accounts.
Impact:
- Community Building: Fostered a strong community spirit through regular updates on training, events, and celebrating cultural moments, which contributed to a cohesive and informed community.
- Sport Promotion: Played a crucial role in introducing handball into schools across Auckland, promoting the sport’s growth at a grassroots level.
- Inspirational Influence: Inspired other clubs in New Zealand and Australia to adopt a similar approach to social media, demonstrating its impact on community development and sport promotion.
